Forbeck, Ragnar 

Born July 23, 1894, in Oslo; died Dec. 28, 1975. in Oslo. Norwegian religious and public figure. Master of theology (1918).

From 1919 to 1926, Forbeck was a chaplain in the city of Fredrikstad, and from 1926 to 1932, a pastor in Oslo. During the fascist German occupation of Norway (1940–45), he took part in the resistance movement; for his work in the movement he was awarded the Military Cross. From 1947 to 1964, Forbeck was chaplain of Oslo Cathedral. In 1953 he became a member of the World Peace Council and vice president of the Norwegian Union of Christians and Partisans of Peace.

Forbeck was awarded the International Lenin Prize for Strengthening Peace Among Nations (1955).
