Forest of Nisene Marks State Park Location: 4 miles north of Aptos on Aptos Creek Road. Facilities: Environmental campsites, picnic areas, trails. Activities: Camping, hiking, biking, horseback riding. Special Features: Park offers rugged semi-wilderness, rising from sea level to steep coastal mountains. Standing on land that was once clear-cut during a 40-year logging frenzy (1883-1923), today the park is a monument to forest regeneration.
