Forfar (fôr`fər), town (1991 pop. 12,652), Angus, E Scotland. Textiles, processed foods, iron goods, and farm tools are produced. Royalist in the civil wars, Forfar had its charter destroyed by Oliver Cromwell Cromwell, Oliver , 1599–1658, lord protector of England. Parliamentary General
