The AMN 7100 includes an Out-of-Band Forward Error Correction code that improves bit error rate characteristics dramatically and enables ultra-long haul transmission capability along with Hitachi Telecom's DWDM system. With the introduction of advanced optical 10Gbps Systems, Forward Error Correction codes moved from niche applications like undersea transmission to the mainstream of the optical communication industry. HDSL2 uses OPTIS signalling, a 16 level PAM line code with Tomlinson pre-coding, a shaped spectrum, and an advanced low latency forward error correction code to achieve up to 1. |
