To support QoS in this model for a variety of traffic types and various link bandwidths with ACM, The forward link for satellite networks should support fairness among RCSTs, and it also has to provide the QoS based on DiffServ according to the traffic characteristics in a wired LAN area.
The reverse and forward link simulation models were recently developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in collaboration with Cadence Design (3) using a simulation tool called the SPW (Signal Processing Worksystem).
Supports voice and SMS * Powers data at 153 kbps: forward link (FL)/reverse link (RL) * Supports MP3 for music-player capability * Supports the BREW solution * Delivers up to 64-polyphony ringtones * Includes integrated security support with SecureMSM v2.
These include dedicated multicasting networks, based on DVB-H or QUALCOMM Incorporated's forward link only (FLO), high-speed unicast streaming over operators' existing third-generation networks, or broadcasting and multicasting, using technologies such as multimedia broadcast and multicast standard (MBMS).
The PHS test system takes advantage of the pause between forward and reverse link transmissions by first using the multipath fading emulator channel for the forward link, and then using the same channel for the reverse link without any switching or disconnecting, as shown in Figure 1.
