Fourth World

those countries, mainly in contemporary Africa and Asia, which are the poorest in the world. The term is used to distinguish certain countries within the usual category of the THIRD WORLD, especially in the light of the economic stagnation of some countries during the 1970s and 1980s. It is a recent term not yet established in general usage.
