Vitoria, Francisco De
Born 1483; died 1546. Spanish theologian and lawyer. Professor of theology at the University of Salamanca. Vitoria founded the so-called Spanish school of international law, which was concerned with questions of territorial acquisition, the law of war, and international exchange.
