Freund, Paul (Abraham) (1908– ) law educator; born in St. Louis, Mo. After serving as a clerk to Justice Louis Brandeis (1932–33), he held a series of legal positions with the government in Washington, D.C. (1933–39). Longtime member of the Harvard Law School faculty (1939–76), he wrote On Understanding the Supreme Court (1949), The Supreme Court of the United States (1961), and many articles.
