Frieseke, Frederick (Carl) (1874–1939) painter; born in Owosso, Mich. Going to Paris in 1898 to study at the Academie Julien, he became an Impressionist after 1901 and settled at Giverny, although he seems more influenced by Renoir than Monet. He spent the rest of his life in France, often painting female nudes or women outdoors in his garden or indoors in his house. How to thank TFD for its existence?
