Friesz, Othon (Achille Émile Othon Friesz) (ôtôN` frē`ĕs, äshēl` āmēl`), 1879–1949, French painter. He studied under Bonnat at the École des Beaux-Arts, along with Matisse, Marquet, and Rouault. Early influenced by impressionism, he adopted the bold, colorful style of the painters involved in the development of fauvism fauvism (fō`vĭzəm) [Fr. ..... Click the link for more information. .
