Frozen Head State Natural Area Location: In the Cumberland Mountains of eastern Tennessee near Wartburg. Facilities: 19 tent-only campsites, 11 backcountry campsites, bathhouse, picnic areas, picnic shelters, hiking trails, bridle trails, game courts, playground. Activities: Camping, fishing, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding. Special Features: This wild, scenic, and natural area is named for one of the highest peaks in the Cumberland Mountains, the top of which is often shrouded in ice and snow. A creek running through the area is stocked with trout for fly fishing.
