Fuad Ibragimovich Khalitov

Khalitov, Fuad Ibragimovich 

Born Feb. 18, 1909, in Kazan. Soviet Tatar actor. People’s Artist of the USSR (1975). Member of the CPSU since 1946.

In 1930, Khalitov graduated from a drama studio and joined the company of the Kazan Workers’ Theater. In 1937 he joined the Kamal Tatar Academic Theater. He gave original interpretations of the historical roles of Kaium Nasyri, the Tatar enlightenment figure, in Kaium Nasyri by Gali and Urazikov, and Musa Dzhalil’, the poet and Hero of the Soviet Union, in Musa, by Isanbet.

Khalitov’s other roles have included Shaikhmirza in Tinchurin’s The American, Gil’manov in Amir’s Minnikamal, Margaritov in Ostrovskii’s Belated Love, Shadrin in Pogodin’s Man With a Gun, Kent in Shakespeare’s King Lear, Pluzhin in Dvoretskii’s A Man From the Outside, and Blanco in Borovik’s Interview in Buenos Aires.
