Fujairah (f jī`rä), sheikhdom (1995 pop. 76,254), c.450 sq mi (1,170 sq km), part of the federation of seven United Arab Emirates United Arab Emirates, federation of sheikhdoms (2005 est. pop. 2,563,000), c.30,000 sq mi (77,700 sq km), SE Arabia, on the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman...... Agriculture, fishing, and boatbuilding are principal industries; no oil of any worth has been found in Fujairah, and it is one of the less developed emirates.
