Fujiyoshida

Fujiyoshida (fjē`yōshēdä), city (1990 pop. 54,804), Yamanashi prefecture, central Honshu, Japan, on the Katsura River. It is an important communications center for the Mt. Fuji region. The city has a large textile industry.

6 Kyodo A history museum in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, is running an exhibition featuring art works by eight Japanese and South Korean artists aimed at boosting bilateral relations ahead of the 2002 World Cup finals to be co-hosted by the two nations.
The dome -- measuring 9 meters in diameter with reinforced plastic panels attached to an aluminum alloy frame -- is to be handed over to the city of Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, which is situated at the foot of the mountain, according to the agency.
Earlier in the day, Okuda told the federation's two-day summer seminar that began in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture, that measures should be taken to make it easier for some public-sector entities, such as schools, to absorb unemployed people.
