Funabashi

Funabashi (fnä`bäshē), city (1990 pop. 533,270), Chiba prefecture, E central Honshu, Japan, on Tokyo Bay. An industrial and residential suburb of Tokyo, it is known for its iron, steel, and petrochemical plants, as well as for providing agricultural products for the Tokyo market.
Funabashi 

a city and port in Japan, on the island of Honshu, in Chiba Prefecture; located near Tokyo, on the coast of Tokyo Bay. Population, 408,600 (1974). Funabashi’s industries include the manufacture of wood products, aluminum goods, and machine tools. Funabashi has a wholesale fish market that supplies Tokyo.
