Established: 1967. Description: National animal welfare society concerned with the protection of all animals, wild and domestic. Opposes sport hunting and commercial trapping; operates animal sanctuaries in Texas and California. In 2005 The Fund for Animals and the Humane Society of the United States formed the Humane Society Legislative Fund to push for legislation protecting animals in Congress and all 50 states. Dues: $10/year.
Publications: Newsletter (quarterly); free to donors.
