Garm 

(from Tadzhik garm—warm, hot), an urban-type settlement, administrative center of Garm Raion, Tadzhik SSR. Until 1950, Garm was the administrative center of Garm Oblast. It is situated on the right bank of the Surkhob River (in the Amu Darya Basin) 175 km northeast of the Iangi-Bazar railroad station and 185 km from Dushanbe, with which it is connected by an automobile road. Garm has dairy products plants and a folk theater.
