GQL

(Graphical Query Language) The former name of a family of query and reporting tools used to access databases on client/server systems from Hummingbird Ltd., Toronto, Ontario (www.hummingbird.com). The product line was rebranded to BI-Query, taking its place with other flagship software: BI Analyze, BI Server and BI Web. GQL was originally from Andyne Computing, which was acquired in 1998.

The OpenIngres solution included VisionPro for 4GL character-based application development, CA-OpenROAD for object-based application development and deployment, and Andyne GQL, from CA Business Partner Andyne Computing (Kingston, Ontario, Canada) for decision support application development.
Alpharel/Trimco delivered its GQL software to provide a graphical query and report generating application that produces reports based on a simple search on one or a number of fields.
