Gall, Joseph G.

Gall, Joseph G. (Grafton) (1928–  ) cell biologist; born in Washington, D.C. He taught at the University of Minnesota (1952–64), became a professor at Yale (1964–83), then joined the Carnegie Institution (1983), becoming American Cancer Society professor of developmental genetics (1984). His work included major contributions to studies of chromosome structure and function, nucleic acid metabolism, gene structure, and cellular organelles.
