Gall, Joseph G. (Grafton) (1928– ) cell biologist; born in Washington, D.C. He taught at the University of Minnesota (1952–64), became a professor at Yale (1964–83), then joined the Carnegie Institution (1983), becoming American Cancer Society professor of developmental genetics (1984).
