Location: 10 miles south of Cozad on US 21, then 2 miles east, 1 mile north, and 1 mile west on county roads.
Facilities: 72 primitive campsites, picnic tables and grills, playground, boat ramp, dock.
Activities: Camping, boating (all types), fishing.
Special Features: Although challenging to reach, Gallagher Canyon offers outstanding scenery and some of the state's best fishing for crappie, flathead, and channel catfish. The area provides access to more than 10 miles of canal that's open to all boats; the canal connects to Plum Creek Canyon Reservoir and Johnson Lake. The campground at Gallagher Canyon is heavily wooded and is rarely full.
