Gantt, Henry Laurence

Gantt, Henry Laurence (1861–1919) industrial engineer; born in Calvert County, Md. From 1887–93, Gantt worked with Frederick W. Taylor in the scientific management of Midvale Steel and Bethlehem Steel. He later originated the "task and bonus" system of wage payment and developed methods of assessing worker efficiency and productivity. He served as a consultant until his death.
