A machine that increases the pressure of a gas or vapor by increasing the gas density and delivering the fluid against the connected system resistance.

In the Catlin Field, the installation of the second high-pressure natural gas compressor on the south end of the field has allowed Ambient to restore production from the first well located on the historically prolific 240-acre Ruth Lease.
In addition, Catlin Oil and Gas has now activated the second natural gas compressor on its field which should result in additional sales of natural gas.
