FC fabric is a point-to-point switched protocol operating at 1 or 2 Gbits/sec serial rates. With the eSATA connectors, users can easily build a high throughput (up to 3 Gbits/sec using SATA II) external storage system with various RAID configurations or a high capacity terabyte storage system by directly connecting the SATA storage devices inside the Storage Tower to the eSATA or regular SATA port of a computer. The new Addonics eSATA II RAID5/JBOD controller (ADS3GX4R5-E) ensures maximum data throughput of 3 Gbits/sec per port when installed into the PCI-X bus. |
