Born Jan. 24, 1927, in Kaunas. Soviet architect, honored builder of the Lithuanian SSR (1968). Member of the CPSU since 1963. Valiuškis studied at the Vilnius Art Institute from 1946 to 1951. In 1963 he became chief architect of Vilnius. He is a specialist primarily in the field of housing construction and is responsible for the plans for standard housing units of the series 1-431 and 1-318 (1955-57, designed with coplanners), residential buildings in the area of Antakalnis in Vilnius (1961-62), and a 32-apartment building in Kèdainiai (1962, with E. The buildings of Valiuškis have a convenient layout, and their exteriors are characterized by a felicitous rhythmic alternation of balconies, gratings, eaves, and beautiful color combinations.
