Geelong (jēlông`), city (1991 pop. 126,306), Victoria, SE Australia, on an inlet of Port Phillip Bay. It is a major port. Wool, wheat, meat, and hides are the principal exports; oil and phosphates are imported. Among the many industries are wool trading, meatpacking, oil refining, and the manufacture of fertilizers and automobiles. Geelong is a noted educational center and the home of Deakin Univ.

Geelong 

a city in the Australian Commonwealth, in the state of Victoria. Population, 105,000 (1966). The city is a port on Corio Bay (the western part of Port Phillip Bay). Its industries include wool processing, meat canning, petroleum chemicals, petroleum refining, and cement. Manufactures include automobile bodies, mineral fertilizers, and rolled ferrous metals. An aluminum refinery is located near Geelong at Point Henry.

After the conference, my journey took me to Geelong, Victoria, where I had the opportunity to visit its beautiful oceanfront and made a brief stop in the Wool Factory.
Rosemary Kallasmae, who works in acute mental health care in Geelong, Victoria, was also shocked at what ENs could and could not do, compared to their Australian counterparts.
