Adding the current geographic location of the camera or smartphone to an image or message, or adding the static geographic location to a street address. The location data contain latitude and longitude, although altitude and bearing (distance from North) may also be included. See GPS-enabled camera.

The functionality is provided via a specific geotagging application programming interface ( API) that external developers can use to build geolocation features in their applications.
These include autofocus, imagine stabilisation, a LED flash, and geotagging options for when you want to add a new dimension to your vacation photos.
The best thing about geotagging is that it can be used right throughout the site and adjusted as needed for different pages.
