Busolt, Georg
Born Nov. 13, 1850, in Keppurren, near Insterburg; died Sept. 2, 1920, in Göttingen. German classical historian. Busolt became a professor at the University of Kiel in 1879 and at the University of Göttingen in 1897. He wrote on the history of ancient Greece in the classical and archaic periods. His works are distinguished by their strictly factual exposition and vast reference information (including broad surveys of the sources and literature on specific questions and the most detailed references and footnotes to the text).
