Vega, Georg
Born 1756; died Sept. 26, 1802, near Vienna. Austrian mathematician, naval officer, and artillery specialist. From 1787 professor at the artillery school in Vienna. Vega is best known for his publication of Tables of Logarithms (1783), which for their time surpassed all others in accuracy. WORKSIn Russian translation:Tablitsy semiznachnykh logarifmov, 2nd ed.
