Geshvend, Fedor Romanovich 

Born 1839, in Helsingfors; died 1890, in Kiev. Russian engineer.

Geshvend was of Swedish origin. He was one of the first to develop technical plans for a reaction engine. In 1886 he published the book General Principles of a Plan for Using the Reactive Effect of Steam in Railroad Steam Engines. In 1887, Geshvend described a plan for a jet airplane and a multinozzle reaction engine in the book General Principles of the Construction of a Flying Steamship.
