Kebnekaise (kĕb`nəkī'sə) [Lappish,=kettle top], mountain peak, 6,965 ft (2,123 m) high, Norrbotten prov., N Sweden; highest in Sweden. There are 16 small glaciers on the slopes.
Kebnekaise 

a mountain summit in the northern part of the Scandinavian mountains; it is the highest mountain in Sweden. Altitude, 2,123 m. Kebnekaise is composed of gabbro and quartz syenites. There are a few isolated glaciers. The University of Stockholm research station on mountain problems (studies of the material and radiation balance of glaciers) is situated there. Kebnekaise attracts tourists.
