a woolen, handwoven, double-faced rug without nap. The pattern is created by a thick filling of colored wefts, which conceal the threads of the warp. Kilims with geometric and floral patterns (rarely with thematic representations) are made in a number of republics of the USSR (for example, in the Ukraine and Moldavia) and in Poland, Bulgaria, and several other countries.
