Ginsburg, Charles P. (1920–92) electrical engineer, inventor. He worked for a radio station after graduating from San Jose State University in 1948. In the early 1950s, as a researcher for the Ampex Corporation, he led the team that invented the modern videotape recorder, first used by a television network in 1956.
