Texas Woman's University, main campus at Denton; state supported; primarily for women; est. 1901. It is the largest state-supported university for women in the country. There are schools of arts and sciences, education, human ecology, library and information studies, and graduate studies. The Institute of Health Sciences provides programs in nursing, occupational and physical therapy, and allied health professions. The school also maintains health sciences programs in conjunction with Parkland Memorial and Presbyterian hospitals in Dallas and at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. Men have been admitted to the university without restriction since 1995.
