Berti, Giuseppe
Born July 22, 1902, in Naples. Italian Marxist historian. Member of the Italian Communist Party from its inception (1921). Berti is the author of the research works Russia and the Italian States in the Period of the Risorgimento (1957; Russian translation, 1959), which is devoted to the history of Russo-Italian diplomatic relations from the beginning of the 18th century to the creation of a unified Italian state, and Democrats and Socialists in the Period of the Risorgimento (1963; Russian translation, 1965), which contains an analysis of the political activity and ideological conceptions of Italian democracy of the era of the risorgimento.
