Giusti, Giuseppe (j zĕp`pā j s`tē), 1809–50, Italian satirical poet. He directed his original and ironic polemics against Austrian rule and also attacked demagoguery and graft. The idiomatic Tuscan of his verse and its contemporary character attracted a wide audience but have detracted from its lasting popularity. How to thank TFD for its existence?
