Gizhiga Inlet

part of Shelikhov Gulf, located along the northeastern coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. It extends inland 148 km between the Taiganos Peninsula and the mainland. Its width at its outlet to the sea is 260 km; in the north, 30-40 km. It is covered with ice most of the year. The high tide reaches 9.6 m. The Gizhiga River flows into Gizhiga Inlet.
