Glaser, Donald A. (Arthur) (1926–  ) physicist; born in Cleveland, Ohio. While at the University of Michigan (1949–60), he developed the "bubble chamber" for observing the paths of atomic particles, for which he won the 1960 Nobel Prize in physics. He became a professor of biology and physics at the University of California: Berkeley (1960), where he diversified into investigations of cell growth and molecular genetics.
