1. Informal a room, cupboard, or other storage space that contains an untidy and miscellaneous collection of objects
2. Nautical another term for lazaretto

In 1970, the Glory Hole was sold to Peter VanderLaan, who revised the name to Gloryhole Glassworks and, after a year in operation, relocated the studio south of Santa Fe to La Cienega.
I motored the Valiant from AZ to Seattle so I could catch the Gloryholes the first night I was up there, and they tore the place apart even though the show was more subdued than in other places I've seen 'em (or maybe it was the fact that I'd had six hours of sleep in the past 72).
