Glushkov, Nikolai Timofeevich 

Born Dec. 20, 1918, in the village of Kholodnaia, in what is now Shabalino Raion, Kirov Oblast. Soviet state figure. Candidate of economic sciences (1966). Member of the CPSU since 1945.

The son of a peasant, Glushkov graduated from the All-Union Juridical Correspondence Institute in 1956. His career in finance and accounting began in 1937. From 1941 to 1949 he was head of the finance department and chief accountant at the Noril’sk Mining and Metallurgical Combine. From 1949 to 1952 he served as head of the finance department of the central board of Eniseis-troi. From 1952 to 1957 he was director of a mining industry administration.

Between 1957 and 1965, Glushkov was head of an administration, deputy chairman, and first deputy chairman of the Krasnoiarsk council of the national economy. Between 1966 and 1975 he was head of the central board and deputy minister of nonferrous metallurgy of the USSR. Glushkov became chairman of the State Price Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR in 1975 and the State Price Committee of the USSR in 1978. He was named a member of the Central Auditing Commission of the CPSU in 1976.

Glushkov has received three orders and various medals.
