Goddard, George William (1889–1987) aviator; born in Tunbridge Wells, England. He enlisted as a Signal Corps private in the 1930s and went on, in the 1930s and 1940s, to develop pioneering techniques in night, color, high altitude, and stereoscopic aerial photography.
