This feature is typical of all Coronaviridae viruses that bud intracellularly at membranes of the intermediate compartment between the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi complex, whereas newly assembled virions reach the cell surface by vesicular transport (16).
In the pituitaries from control rats at all time points after DEN administration, most of the granular cells were of the storage type, characterized by many secretory granules and an inactive appearance, with poor development of endoplasmic reticula (ER) and Golgi complex (Figure 1), as described in detail by others (13,37).
Several studies with antibodies that bind to the presenilins have indicated that they reside in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), where the cell synthesizes proteins, and in the Golgi complex, where proteins are often modified.
