Golubtsov, Viacheslav Alekseevich
Born Mar. 29 (Apr. 4), 1894, in Nizhny Novgorod, present-day Gorky. Soviet heat engineer; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1953). Member of the CPSU from 1931. Upon his graduation from the Leningrad Institute of Electrical Engineering in 1925, Golubtsov directed the construction and operation of a number of electric power plants. Golubtsov has taught at the Moscow Energetics Institute since 1944 (as professor since 1945). His scientific works deal with the questions of air preheating, deaeration, dust preparation, and ash usage. Golubtsov participated in the development of new methods of softening water for industrial boilers. He received the State Prize of the USSR in 1950.
