Gonzales, (Richard Alonzo) “Pancho” (1928– ) tennis player; born in Los Angeles. He was the dominant professional player during the 1950s, when tennis was still largely an amateur sport. In 1969, at age 40, he played in the longest ever match at Wimbledon, a 112-game, 5-hour and 12-minute marathon victory over Charlie Pasarell.
