Goodlad, John

Goodlad, John (Inkster) (1920–  ) educator; born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Goodlad was professor and director of the University of California: Los Angeles Elementary School (1960–85) and dean of the Graduate School of Education (1967–83). In his major study, A Place Called School (1984), he criticized public schools' failure to teach analytical thinking.
