Google Now

Google's virtual assistant for Android and iOS mobile devices as well as the Chrome Web browser. Introduced with Android Jelly Bean in 2012, Google Now combines the speech recognition and natural language capability in Google's search engine with a predictive feature that notifies users in anticipation of their needs. For example, the morning weather report and traffic conditions might be displayed before going to work. Google Now derives information from one's daily routine and delivers notifications based on "card" categories that the user sets up.

For iPhones and the Chrome Web Browser
In 2013, Now was released for iOS. A year later, Google added Now to its Chrome browser, allowing Now cards to appear on their computers. Users were offered a trial by downloading the Google Chrome Canary beta version. See Google Assistant and virtual assistant.
