Gordon, Anna Adams (1853–1931) temperance reformer; born in Boston, Mass. An indefatigable crusader for world prohibition and author of numerous inspirational songs and books, Gordon was the chief aide of Woman's Christian Temperance Union (W.C.T.U.) president Frances E. Willard (1888–98), W.C.T.U. president (1914) and world president (1921–25).
