Gorodnichii, Anton Egorovich 

Born about 1848 in the locality of Kostenevichi, present-day Minsk Oblast; died not earlier than 1917. Russian worker and revolutionary.

Gorodnichii was of peasant origin. From 1871 he worked in a number of plants in St. Petersburg, where from 1873 he carried on revolutionary propaganda. He was a member of the Northern Union of Russian Workers. In March 1874 he was arrested. From Aug. 12, 1876, he lived in St. Petersburg under secret surveillance. In May 1879 he was again arrested and deported to his homeland. On Oct. 15, 1879, Gorodnichii was exiled to Mezen’ in Arkhangel’sk Province for his “harmful influence.” Subsequently he abandoned political activity.
