Graben Syncline
a concave fold of rock layers with its limbs lifted by faults, as a result of which the core of the fold becomes depressed in the form of a graben. Graben synclines are characteristic of relatively consolidated regions of the earth’s crust, particularly of sediment-covered young platforms (for example, in Central Kazakhstan).
