Activities: Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, bicycling, hunting, snowmobiling, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, naturalist programs (seasonal). Special Features: Grand Lake Saint Marys was constructed from 1837 to 1845 as a feeder reservoir for the Miami-Erie Canal system. Before Hoover Dam was built to create Nevada's Lake Mead, Grand Lake was the largest manmade lake in the world.
