Granet, François Marius (fräNswä` märyüs` gränā`), 1775–1849, French painter; student of J. L. David. Granet is known for his depictions of church interiors, among them his numerous versions of the Choir of the Capuchin Monastery, one of which is in the Metropolitan Museum.
